G'day there all...
Getting to work on the trackwork, and practicing here and there, but now another problem has cropped up, where I'd like answers from anyone who's willing to put his/her hand up, provided they know what they're talking about, and are sure of their facts.
If you make a section of lengthy double-track, and make a fairly short crossover, then add modern colour light signals to control the crossover, and adding a couple of ordinary signals to stop the trains on the opposite tracksfrom slamming into you while on the crossover... makes sense ?
Exactly which signal names in both colour-light and semaphore signals are to be used for this sort of single crossover ? And do you think if it's setup correctly, should the points at the far end of the crossover also move when the near signal and points change ? I've got it all wrong here, and with so many signals to choose from, this is giving me a headache no end trying all the combos with the track links, in the hope of getting it right eventually.
In my above situation, where, after the first link is (as usual) placed just in front of the signal being placed, should the first of three or four links be placed ? Then the second and perhaps the third one ? Should a link be placed on the track opposite as well, in front of the stop signal next to the crossover junction signal ? Seems to make some sense.
Regards...

Have a look at

Also Download Mark's Tutorials. They are listed in one of the topics.
If you post a screenshot of the Junction on the Signalling Forum you will always get help from the experts there.
Off the top of my head you need a signal with 2T in the name or 1T depending which way the crossover starts in relation to up and down lines. If it is a double crossover you will need four of the 2T variety if you have bidirectional lines in semaphore.

Thanks a lot for that info ! I'm trying to get hold of all the documentation I can for KRS World Editor and stuff like that, so I can study and practice with it all. My hearing loss is a hinderance where the mini videos are concerned, as I think they have some dialogues contained in a few of them, which I can't hear, naturally, and perhaps I miss some important info... who knows ? A step-by-step written documentation would be best in my case though, but not all the really important and useful stuff like the videos, is written down, and I think I miss something by not being able to hear. What can you add to that ?Retro wrote:Have a look at

Re: Now it's signals...
There are several tutorials on the Route Editor that are around the Forums somewhere and Sniper has done quite a few of these linked to TrainSim.com from some of his posts. I will see if I can find them when I get a minute. I am about to do battle with a whole pile of Windows Updates that have just appeared and the Update site is not responding ATM.

First thing to check out is this:
If there are questions left, a screenshot where you numbered the switches or signals really helps a lot.
