Flashing textures under points

I suspect I've created them totally the wrong way, but some, (not all) of the points have a pattern of flashing sleepers under them, as though the program is trying to render the two tracks alternately. I though that the blend tool might merge them all together but it hasn't. The points all work perfectly, in all directions, they just look awful.

Any tips on how to correct them?

This is an issue with default track too.

Ah, thanks. I had gone to the RS Forums to check bu they've archived their know issues list after the upgrade Mk1, and I could find no other references to it in our own forums.

So now I suppose I've got to experiment with different track types to see which ones will behave themselves.

I've just had this happen too on creating my first ever junction.. I feel like a proud father!
Have you tried hitting the weld button? I did this and over my flashing junction I got the grey box, clicked this and the junction sorted itself out.
Worth a try if you haven't already :)

If a point is welded / rendered correctly and is flat then I don't usually have a problem. I do get problems using "yard track" as it has a flat profile and can fight with the terrain textures and other track, so I tend not to use it. Also, if one of the diverging tracks is at a slightly different gradient then sometimes I get the two tracks flashing through each other; I can 9/10 times resolve or minimalise the problem by manually editing the gradient (with the grad icon) so where the tracks seperate is at exactly the same height (then hitting the space bar 5 or 6 times thus forcing the junction to re-render).

I just had a look, but once the junction is formed and the switch lever has been created there doesn't seem to be any further welding that can be done.

I also tried using the select tool. I discovered that if you click on the straight portion before the trailing end of a crossover, then click on the straight beyond the trailing portion, then move the mouse back over the curved rails, the selection bar follows you, and you can then click twice more on the straight portion of the facing crossover, and end up with all of the points selected, but the blend button doesn't seem to make any difference. It's frustrating, because getting the whole of the crossover selected seems to hint that you can then paint or blend or otherwise transform it.

RandomDan: I have had my suspicions about the yard track, but I'm having to use it because I need the tight radius. However, one crossover that is showing this problem is all done in Bath wood old, using default 1. I don't know about the gradient issue, because I've made the whole of the SECR station level track, which I suspect it probably was anyway.

You don't need to use yard track type (with the flat profile) to get tight curves; you can use normal track but before you lay it, change the track property to yard in the right panel, this will allow you to use the regular track profile but with yard properties (ie, tighter curves). I can't think why your problematic junction with regular track happens though, I can only suggest relaying that.

I get this problem with most of the default routes, I put it down to my gfx card/drivers.
