Hi,
DriverXY, you can get rid of the "grass" by turning it off at the start of the game.
Its in Options/Graphic Details /Procedural floral

Hi,
I'm wondering if you have some memory problems using so many decals ?? - can you experiment by perhaps backing your route up then deleting a lot of the decals elsewhere in the route and seeing if you still have problems in the area in question ?? - You can restore your route afterwards using the back-up.
Cheers

This isn't the problem. Leaving aside I have 3 gigs of memory that it isn't a problem is indicative of the case when after those problematic decals I went back and put numerous decals down on Caen none of which did a disappearing act. Indeed, I've since put more decals after this area without problems except for one partial. I think that the DEM data is unstable in certain parts of the sim. If I raise the terrain the images will immediately appear. However, because the terrain rests on the DEM data with the latter being unstable the decals will just sink into the terrain after I come back and load the route up again.

Thanks for that Ross.

To follow up on the memory issue I opened up the task manager while in RS and it's only using just over a half a gig memory so clearly not a memory issue. I believe in certain parts of RS you have unstable DEM data. Again, if I hit 't' the decal will display. But coming back after leaving RS or to the main menu the same problem.

Hi,
I wouldn't necessarily assume that you don't have a memory problem - you could have a graphics memory problem regardless of RAM - You really need to cover all the angles when you have a problem like this - maybe KRS can't handle all the memory or doesn't do it well ?? - some prgrams are good at loading things into graphics memory but not so good at unloading memory - my guess is that isn't your problem - but you won't know without trying it.
Another option is to use a BIN editor and raise the problem decals height by editing their bin file - try every option until you resolve this.
However only try one option
at a time.
Good luck.
