Complete Faliure to Load

Post by Duncan93 »

I bought Railsim upon the suggestion of a friend, I installed it on my system with no problems, upon attempting to run, Railsim declaired it was loading, only to be met with the Windows Vista Error Reporter popping up, a few seconds after the words "Loading" appeared, saying Rail Simulator had stopped working and had to be closed. I have attempted running as Administrator, which has exactly the same effect. Submitting the error reports has returned no solutions. I'm at a loss as to what the cause is.
The Operating System is Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium patched to Service Pack 1 and the latest updates
The system haas 2GB of RAM, Celeron M Processor and an intergrated Intel graphics card, thanx

If you havent done so already I would be inclined to uninstall RS and then reinstall.

Its possible a problem occured during the original installation.

Hi Duncan93,

Have you tried checking that your P/C is capable (powerful enough) of running RS with this EA Games checker:
http://www.eagames.co.uk/news/10732/

Also, have you set the language (not to be set as OS Default ) and screen resolution (make sure the screen resolution in the drop down box is compatable with your monitor) and tested it, these are found in the 'Options' section of the launcher when the screen displays the 'Play Game ....' & 'Options' boxes, assuming you are getting that far.

As you have said you must run RS as Administrator.

I suggest that in the opening screen that says 'play game' or 'options' before it loads, click 'options' and make sure the resolution for the game is the same as your monitor. If not, the game will crash in the way you describe.

I didn't think RS could run with an Intel Integrated Graphics chip.
