Failing to load

Post by Daffer »

Hi all!

I have been having troubles loading some scenarios. I have played them before so I know they work. I am running Vista and I have found some use ful tips on here, like running in administrator mode and recently I found a thread about adding drivers list to the edit mode. I got to showing the drivers list and on the scenario "Lost in the shuffle" I had 7 drivers, the first showed "succeeded" the next four were "failed" and the last two "succeeded" but I don't know how to use that information. I had made some alterations to the track with a junction, I wondered if that had upset the pathing, so I removed the junction but it made no difference.

Hi Daffer,
I got to showing the drivers list and on the scenario "Lost in the shuffle" I had 7 drivers, the first showed "succeeded" the next four were "failed" and the last two "succeeded"
For a Scenario to load without the dreaded 'Scenario Failed' message All drivers must show succeeded.

Have you tried clicking on the 'refresh' box in the Drivers List a few times to see whether they succeed now you have removed the junction?

If they don't succeed you need to click on one of the 'failed' drivers, then click on the small arrow next to the Compass (Top of the Screen) and that will transport you to that locomotive/consist. Click on the Instruction Tabs over the loco and see where the path fails (they will display exclaimation marks [!!!] where the failure is occuring ).

You now have to correct it (that's the hard part) by altering the instructions until they correct. When you have corrected them go to the Drivers Tab and click the 'Drivers' box and check any other Drivers still showing failed and do the same to those.

Alternatively try re-loading the 'Lost in the shuffle' Scenario that you have in your 'RS Back up' you made before you started making changes (you did make one didn't you :-? ).

I hope the above makes some sense to you, it's harder to explain than it is to do.

Hi Rob!

I nearly sent to you direct as it was your post that I followed, you have now given me something to think about this evening, and worrying me now is I don't think I made a back up.

Rob!

I did as you suggested, went to the failed trains, but the four failed trains had no instructions other than the driver icon, the successful ones did. So I deleted the failed trains, now I have three successful ones on the list, but it still will not load. I tried the Acton scenario, that would not load, I tried the Rush Hour scenario and that loaded. I played that one and as I went through Ealing Broadway I noticed the up fast line with still had the gap in. I thought that the Mk1 or Mk2 solved that, but apparently not on mine. Thinking this is the cause of the scenarios not loading I repaired the track at Ealing and tried again but still to no avail. Does this mean I have to go back and start again. If so, I have done quite a lot track laying on the York - Newcastle route which I don't really want to do all again. After reinstalling can I select to use the saved York files but not the Paddington - Oxford.
