KRS Will not install

I have recently been trying to build a locomotive for KRS, I ordered the game a week or so ago, any way the turned up a couple of days ago so I decided to install it so I could try out some of the content I have made.

I put the disk in and it autoran as normal, it asked for language etc and then for the code, I put the code in and forward it went no problems thus far, until this screen appears,



Now, this only appears for maybe a second, then it's gone, but I managed to grab a screen. I have tried restarting the computer and reinstalling but same again!

If you copy the contents of the dvd to a folder on your hard drive and run setup.exe from that folder instead of the dvd it should install.

It has installed the game and I have installed the MK 1 and 2 updates plus the Dev docs, I went to start the game and it says use original game disk not backup (1000)?? I have the orignal disk in the drive??!!

I bought this hard drive from my friend he had KRS but he said he had done a clean installed windows, could there be remnants of his install messing around with my new install?

if you start the 'rail simulator developer edition' version of the sim you shouldnt need the disk in the drive, have you tried that?

Yes that way of running it works fine, what is the difference between that and the regular game?

the regular game has only a basic editor with no scenario creation, the editor version has everything and misses nothing, once the dev tools are installed there is no need for the regular start up
