Front coupling and double headers

When I'm in the Bath to Templecombe route I seem to be having problems with the coupling of loco's. I can couple the tender end of loco's ok onto a train but when I try to couple smokebox first or double head it won't let me. I've tried different combinations with the manual coupling and couple overide off (anyone know what this does?) but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

If you haven't installed the Mk 1 patch then the 7F's have a front coupling problem. The patch should have cured this for the black 7f, but the prussian blue download from the RS site will still have the problem in. The black and green 5MT's shouldn't have a problem though.
There is a download on this site that patched the black 7f prior to the upgrade, but you are better off getting the Mk 1 release because it addresses quite a few other issues as well.
I didn't have any problems double-heading, except that without the front-coupler fix the 7F had to be in front of the 5MT.

Thanks AdamsRadial. Still having problems where by sometimes if I couple one thing to another the tender or loco comes apart but I'll leave it for now.
Thanks

You have to be creeping up to the stock at less than 1 mph, and stop just as the buffers start to touch before trying to couple. It takes a bit to learn, but then it's straightforward.

Or you could try using Automatic Coupling 'On', selected in Game Options (I think).

Manual coupling is one of my favourite bits, takes practice to line the loco up to the right point to avoid the shuddering but it looks great when the coupling swings in to place
Matt.

Thanks for the help all. I'll just play around with it.
