Gentlemen,
I too have had the problem outlined by lostandwild (Graham 27/02/08) but unlike him I have been totally unable to understand or follow the advice given in the subsequent entries. That makes me thick I dare say but please is there something simple i can do ? or do I resign myself to never running that scenario ?
With grateful thanks and kind regards

Hello peterjay,
My first advice is that you check you have all the Rolling Stock installed for the Scenario, if any are missing you will get the Scenario failed banner show at the beginning.
To check for missing Rolling Stock, download Mike Simpsons RS Tools_TMB and it will show you any missing items.
Available here:
http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/RailSim ... S_TMB.html
Come back if you still have problems.

Hello Robert,
Many thanks for your advice. I downloaded all the stock and the activity again but it still doesn't work. I will say one thing, you do me a great honour in believing I'd be able to understand and use that programme you suggested, it might as well have been written in Chinese.
I'll keep trying though.
Many thanks and kind regards

Hi again peterjay,
Mike's RS Tools_TMB utility is simple to install and use, as long as you do exactly as described in the included Instructions.
Once loaded click on the 'RS_Tools_TMB.exe' file in the folder you have created, then click on 'Tools' then 'Check Routes or Scenario's'. Next click on 'Bath Green Park to Templecombe', then click on 'List Scenario's in Selected Route' box and click on (it will Highlight) the 'Spring Local to Evercreech'. Finally click on the 'List Stock for selected Scenario' box. You will then find a box at the bottom that allows you to 'Check for Missing Stock'.
This will then tell you what Rolling Stock items you are missing.
Harder to write and read than to actually do, believe me.
Give it a try.

Hello Robert,
Thank you for your kind advice. I fear it falls on stony ground. Have tried and get all sorts of error messages so have abandoned the whole enterprise.
Again many thanks and kind regards

Robert,
I apologise for loosing my cool and venting my frustrations at you, quite unforgiveable.
Purely for the record the first error I got when attempting to use the programme you recommended was "an error has occurred in 000000+000000.bin when I opened "check routes or scenarios" and clicked on any route. I had to use the Start Task Mamager to clear. If I ignored that command and instead tried to open List Stock used by selected scenario I got the following error message "Run-time error75. Path/File access error.
I'm afraid none of this means anything at all to me so maybe I would be better off sticking to MSTS.
With thanks and kind regards

Hi Peter,
Glad to hear you haven't given up, good on ya' mate.
I'm not an expert either on RS Tools_TMB, but to perhaps state the obvious have you checked that you have serz.exe file in your Rail Simulator folder, that you have installed the "Required .OCX Files" from Mike Simpsons site and also that you have pointed the programme to where Rail Simulator is on your computer.
Not being an expert, as I said above, I do hope Mike reads this and can offer some help to you (as he often does when he reads the Forum).
I'm sure its only something simple (as it often is) and somebody will help out here, so you will be able to use the Utility and then crack the problem with running the 'Spring Local' Scenario.
And finally, no apologies necessary, let's just hope you get this sorted out and enjoy Rail Simulator as well as MSTS.

Robert,
Thanks again. One last thought before I'm away for a couple of days. I downloaded the latest version of KickStart to see what it was all about. I don't remember the details but it did say after one check that it couldn't see any scenarios at all for any route. As I had just done the Paddington Oxford rush hour they are there. Will read your last in greater detail when I get back on Wednesday.
Many thanks and kind regards
