notched brake simulation setup

Hi guys.... wonder if anyone could assist me here.... i'm trying to setup brake notches on the default HST. why railsim team didn't do it i'll never know. think there's 6 notches on real brake lever, and despite reading devtools doc's on brake simulation blueprints, i don't know where to start.

I've tried in blueprint editor under both engine and simulation folders of sample loco to see where brake controller would be located, and when i've tried "new blueprint" on the right click menu, there's no brake blueprint avail to create.

Any advice or links to tutorials for this would be much appreciated.
