AWS warning cancel.

When I play the excellent York to Newcastle Stopper scenario, and am in the cab and approaching a signal at caution or danger, the AWS correctly buzzes, but I cannot cancel it! I have tried clicking on the AWS button (it's the Class 47, by the way), and pressing 'Q', but nothing will cancel the AWS warning.
Please can anyone tell me how to cancel the AWS?

You have to be in expert mode to cancel aws. From the main screen click options, then gameplay. :D
