Will KUJU fix the rail "swaying" effect ???

Post by J94Fan »

Hello

I've just purchased Rail Simulator, and so I qualify as a beginner ;)

The "sway" effect is visible from the cab and the external views. I think it's too "sinusoidal" i.e. predictable wave-like motion.

Will this be fixed, or is it going to be left "as is"

It was commented on within hours of the game coming out and the feed back did reach RSDL. However will it be altered in the first patch is a case of wait and see, but not much longer until the arrival of the patch. :D

The issue is not so much the sway, as the inclusion of some suspension motion is laudable, but rather the way in which it is implemented looks more like the track is zig-zagging rather than the loco moving relative to the track.

Let's hope it does get fixed in the patch!

Update - I have just spotted a reply from Adam to a similar query on the RS forum. They have stated the oscillating effect will be removed (presumably in the upcoming patch - perhaps Derek or Adam can confirm) until such time as it can be implemented more authentically (i.e. a la BVE).

Big vern is correct.

It has been removed in the RS_Upgrade Mk1

I will not go into details of why or even who implemented it, watchout for 'Rail Simulator Uncovered' coming soon.
(made that up, but I think it would give you all an insight)
:)
