Alright, I probably do need to go to the back of the class, but I have not been able to get RS to recognize the SExample Steam Loco after unzipping and using the enclosed installer. Tried a couple of times and even ran the packager itself againstthe .rpk file. Surely there is something quite elementary I have missed here. I did have the Dev Tools (second version) installed during this process.

I think the sample locos are for us to look at in the Asset Manager, rather than being available to use in the Sim itself. However, you could probably Export it from the Asset Manager into the game.

Ian,
The example steam loco file has an installer to enable it to be tried out in the sim straight away, it also contains the source files to look at in the asset manager.
Bill,
Just above the loco list there should be a little a little blue box with a small orange arrow pointing right. (object selection filter). Click on this. This opens a panel on the right of the screen. Open the drop down box section panel and select developer. Make sure the addon box is ticked. You should then be able to see it in the loco selection screen.
Cheers,
Kevin

Kevin,
I had read the instructions about this, but had not been able to get the list to display. Perhaps this is where I need to concentrate and find out what I am failing to see/do.
Thanks,
Bill

Ah ha (American for "Eureka"). The required box does not extend on its own; one must see the blip on the border and go get it to come out.
Thanks,
Bill
