I mainly use free roam and the driver's guide does not show distances to the next station in that mode. I've tried using route markers but to no avail. Does anyone know of a way for me to be able to get such information in free roam please? :-?

Hi - sorry if I sound dim - but what are the colour bands (yellow and red etc.) that encompass the lines in the 2D map and driver's guide? the ones that seem to change colour as you drive along the route?

Thanks

In free roam your train does not have a path, since you are free to go wherever you like. Therefore to cover all possibilities the Driver Guide would need to show the distances to every single marker on the route, which would leave us with a very messy interface! The Driver Guide only gives the distance to the next scheduled stop or waypoint, therefore you need to give your train an instruction to either "drive to" or "pick up passengers at" a specific marker / platform if you want the distance to be displayed. Hope this helps!

The yellow / red markings are a bit of a mystery. They don't seem to relate to signals, stopping distances or other services / rolling stock so only RSDL will be able to shed any light on what they're supposed to represent. Hopefully they'll be removed in the first patch as they clutter up the view quite a bit.

I think that the red and yellow lines on tracks are safety zones for trains so that other trains can't crash into each other but I'm not sure. I wish that RSDL will improve the Driver's Guide so that it displays distance to stations and speed limit signs. Maybe RSDL can make Driver's Guide look like the one in MSTS. I also would like Switching Aid like the one in MSTS.
