Vee Cab SPAM

Post by MDIvey »

As well as progress with getting the model into RS I've also been doing some modelling for the Vee Cab version of the SPAM Can. My all time favourite is Sir Eustace Missenden in the Special livery it was given... that is what you see below less the plates which I still have to build...

Are you envolved with Digital Traction or is this a different model?

Aye, the digital Traction model is more detailed (Mesh) and also I think payware? Haven't read much about it...

Good work so far though well done! :D Hmmm, the only problem is that you can't have reflection/Specular and alpha together as they use the same channel?

Thanks for comments.

to clarify this is my model nothing to do with Digital Traction. I havent seen any pics of the Digital Traction model but if its mesh is more detailed than mine then I cant wait to see it. My own model is pretty detailed and you can zoom right in to enjoy it.There isnt much that I haven't solid modelled (the top LOD model is about 25000 polys). It wont have a custom Cab or sounds which hopefully the other one will if its payware. To be honest my efforts to get it into the SIM are mainly so I can enjoy the fruits of my own labour (its taken about 200 hours over two years).

Sly... you shall be the first to have a beta copy of it when the plates are done :)

The comment about shine and alpha is true... but there may be ways round that I just havent worked out

As has been pointed out it is payware, and the two aren't assosciated.

Keep up the good work. :)

I've reworked the Malachite Green textures to better suit the way RS renders them and made a few detail improvements... and the Vee Cab is now gameworthing... just need to build the plates for Sir Eustace when I have time.

A Cheeky Question

Matt

Could you do a Blackmoor Vale version for my Bluebell Line. The livery is almost identical to yours.

Hobnobs are on offer as an incentive if required.

It is one I had in mind to do...we'll see. With such a big class (including the BoBs) and number of variations I shall have to draw the line somewhere but I'll see what I can do :)
