Looking very good, a few odd things as tango pointed out but considering the limited number of assets currently available for RS you're doing very well. Here's an overhead shot of Ropley, as you can see it's just a straightforward two-track layout with a standard spacing of six foot (not four as tango stated). There are other footbridges in RS which span two tracks, the one you've used looks to be double that.

Keep going though, I think a lot of us will be looking forward to this one :)

Im not altering the tracks for the bridge, the issue I have is when creating the loop points using the method as detailed in Rail Sim docs and videos, they are very limited in ensuring that the track spacing end up as just a 4 foot, iv tried using double track through the station and everything but cant get the spacing right. I may well just scrap this version and release it as totally fictional until more freedom is allowed in RS
The shed seems to be severing the ends of the tracks.
it is becuase there are not many options of building availability within RS until I get some bespoke ones built, once I stock that up with freight wagons and coaches it wont show

Well I wouldnt scrap it if i were you, I think your doing a smashing job mate :)
And the layout of ropley isnt vital if it cant be done at least all the landmark objects are there such as footbridges, platforms, buildings and foliage, then thats realistic enough for anybody :)

Oh ok :)

Ok, have spent tonight totally redoing the track work at Ropley to try and get the points and spacings looking better. Using a method of trial and error have managed to get it a bit better.

That looks much better :)

I didnt mean to be picky with my original post, Just its alot more atmospheric when you have two locos with a rake of coaches idling side by side :)

Keep up the fantastic work mate

One for those that know the MHR and the infamous Ropley Headshunt :)

Apart from a bit of scenery the section between Alresford and Ropley is best part done now, so may pack that up people to give it a crack and see if there are any issues. Just need to work out how to pack it up - lol

Yes I did count the rivets only joking great route nice to see someone having a go at doing a route for railsim and you don't always need custom scenery although it would be nice.

This route looks really great. It has a real MHR-feeling to it. The landscape is definitely realistic.

If I could offer one point of criticism however; the track geometry doesn't quite look right in the station areas - they don't quite look cramped enough to me. I don't know if this is a limitation of RS or not, that it won't let you fit the trackwork into really tight and irregular spaces. Maybe it's just my imagination - I know that the stations are, in reality, very cluttered, and removing the general railway clutter from stations and yards makes them look extemely large.

Otherwise excellent work; the screenshots compared wonderfully to some photos I've taken there in the past.

I would welcome any reference material, as it helps a lot to use a lot of the space up :)

It has been difficult with the track work due to some of the limitations with RS, Iv already redone Ropley ones, the problem is its not a 5 minute job. I need to have another go at Alresford now, Medstead looks good, when I get 5 mins I will do some later screenshots.

Also take your point around clutter, as I said using stock RS items does limit you slightly, however Im sure we can make it look a bit more cluttered :)
