I renamed this thread, since I keep chucking up screenshots of any re-skins I do.

This, is the latest.

Update:

More of a tea colour gold now, plus "Great Western" bit, and handles in white.

Any ideas what I should do about numbering?

Hi,
on my Colas Rail 47 reskin i deleted the RS numbers by editing the dscv files in the engine folder.
but for that reskin i used photographs, the numbers were there already, so thats not much help to you! but at least if you take out the RS numbers it would look 100% better.
the numbers on the FGW 47 were quite small and the same color as the bodysides situated just behind the drivers door set in the gold stripe.
its looking a really good reskin, well done!

with regards
kevin.

Thanks for the comments.

I'm not sure about removing the numbers completely. One of the things I disliked about MSTS was that there were many one-off re-skins, where an individual loco was created. RS can avoid that, but is obviously less realistic, due to the lack of nameplates and details specific to certain locos - but it does mean you should avoid having two locos with the same livery, with the same number.

For that reason, so far I've stuck to liveries which were/are used on more than one loco, because with so little stock around, it's best to fill things up with liveries that can be used several times per scenario.

I've done away with the numbers completely - they correct numbers are located in the dscv file, but I've done away with the textures.

I'll release it as it is later, and those who need the numbers displayed and have the know how can add the geopdx of their choice (I've used the ICS one) and add the numbers they wish to use to the Textures folder. Otherwise it's a wait to see if RSDL release their own version of this, with the numbers in the correct place, or they might release a geopdx which puts them in the right place (in which place I would re-release this with numbers).

Thank you.

Though the real thanks goes to the 30 or so jobs I've applied for since September who have decided not to hire me.

Oh... and RDSL, without good quality skins in the first place, none of the re-skins would have been possible.

Anyone got a good resolution logo? I've tried doing searches, but "great western" doesn't bring up every result I'd hope for...

Thanks.

Unfortunately, it's a tad too small and in the reverse of what is required.
