Re: General User Created Route Screenshots [Large Files]
OK, I for one am getting a bit tired of this. Lateagain's post isn't really clear but how you've managed to get an argument out of it can only be the result of special effort. I assume he was refering to the amount of people who've had a half hour fiddle with the editor and then given up for good.
All the same, if you want to continue this can you please take it elsewhere because I've clicked the 'new posts' button on this thread three times now trying to see how people are getting on with the new sim, and it looks good. I do not want to see some petty argument dragged out across several pages.
Thanks

Re: General User Created Route Screenshots [Large Files]
I will not post any further in this thread. The concerns of many very experienced simmers are articulately expressed in "Had Enough" and I agree that the issues are better kept to that thread.
I would say that this thread is poorly titled. As some folk have obviously jumped in straight away with route building (I've been away for a week and I'm frankly gobsmacked at how many threads and posts have been generated in such a short time) It would have been better titled:
"Screenshots of User Generated Routes."
as it currently could be read as:
"General User created screenshots of routes" and many will be surprised as I was that without tools so much has already been done? OK that's just me then

I agree my post is not clear and rather assumed that people had been following all threads. If you read as I suggest many of the issues become clear. My concerns are that whatever is created could be restricted in distribution. I hope I'm wrong, but only an idiot would fail to see how that would cramp development. New Sims bring New blood and whilst everyones point of view is valid most folk would pay attention to the experience of those they argue with on ANY topic. Fools will always be with us.mpeffers wrote:OK, I for one am getting a bit tired of this. I've no wish to continue this here as stated above. I don't agree that it looks good. I'm personally disappointed at the standard of graphics produced so far (there is IMO much available for MSTS AND Trainz which, although different, is equally impressive) but I'm also mindful of just how awful default graphics were on MSTS and how quickly they improved with 3rd party input. That is why the issue of control and or freedom to distribute additional material is IMO the make or break of RS. That is amongst the issues debated elswhere. My post was to flag that up. No more, no less. IMO anyone who'd followed the threads I pointed up ought to have understood that.mpeffers wrote:All the same, if you want to continue this can you please take it elsewhere because I've clicked the 'new posts' button on this thread three times now trying to see how people are getting on with the new sim, and it looks good. The Forum is called screenshots. My comment was about the heading of the thread.

My first try
Takes some time, but i think its is quite easy and you're learning very fast
This scenery takes about 1h to create.
