Re: Am confused RW lunch date
It would not be too surprising if by Xmas it has dropped to the mid-range (£14.99) or even budget < £9.99 level. Very few games these days hold their initial retail value for very long and a train game is no exception.

Its worse than that at times, in that RSC if they sell it direct might be forced to sell at the RRP due to commercial agreements with the retailers. While retailers can sell at a discount and normally do they usually dislike the developer doing the same. A case in point is TRS2009 where Auran were selling it a discount up until it went on retail shelves and they had to raise the price to RRP I believe.AndiS wrote:bigvern wrote:If RSC would only sell via their own webshop, I would expect stable prices like for the addons, but with play.com & co. there is no way around price drops.

Just FYI, Chart Track consider all PC games priced £14.99 or under as "budget".bigvern wrote:It would not be too surprising if by Xmas it has dropped to the mid-range (£14.99) or even budget < £9.99 level. Have a look at the first dvd-box.AndiS wrote:I am 100% sure that this is a placeholder image. I does not even have a DVD-box shaped format (or is my vision skewed?) It is even worse than what Vern hinted at - with RailWorks being the only word on the box, no one will have any idea at all. Engines are not made in rail works. Given the amount of sick stuff piled on games shops, I doubt it would attract interest if everyone think "What the hell is in that case?".
Look at the pictures on the box and the text.
I am sure Railworks does the same or even better.
