General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.
Hi,
If I have a problem joining a crossover to another track, I try shortening the straight middle section bit by bit until I can successfully drag and join the final section to the main track. It often works but the second switch ends up at a slightly larger radius than the first one.
regards Ted.
On the bottom left tab there should be a clickable circle alongside a track/magnet saying "snap to track". Click this, select the track you are going to use and then connect it from that crossover you have started to the track you want to connect it to. It should offer a path highlighted in pink and will connect the crossover for you. I presume this is what you wanted.
As the other poster has stated above, if it won't let you connect from where it currently is, just split the track, delete the little bit that has split and try the "snap to track" tool again.
Ive just had a nightmare of a time trying to do something similar to this, but as someone has already pointed out, if you shorten the sections of track it WILL join easier.
You don't need to split or trim the track at the desired starting point. With Snap to Track checked, select your track type then left click on the crossover section where you estimate the connecting curve should begin. Move your starting point back or forward in increments until the track turns red, indicating a join. Left click again to lay the join, then trim the excess straight section.
If this doesn't work it may be that the joining curve radius required is too small to be formed - if so you'll need to start your crossover section further back to increase the radius.
