I'm one of those people who prefers more locos, coaches and wagons, oh yes, and signals, signal boxes, and station buildings as well!
At the moment all my countryside is green, with any rocky outcrops over-painted green. All boundaries are complete with hedges (bramble) and various fences, trees etc, and plenty of fields to be seen from the railway line.
I construct my route merely from the driver's point of view. I drive a diesel so that I can admire my scenic attempts, but what the driver can't see doesn't bother me!
I like playing trains, you see.
regards Ted.

I have a tip: the Foliage Pack 01 has a very good "Usage Example".
It contains 5 important items
- trackside detail
- near distance fields
- field boundaries
- middel distance trees
- distance trees

Re: RS Worries
Hi Theokus,
Thanks for the tip.
I think we can get too tied up with trying for super reality with scenery. I find the thought of having 300 textures listed in a menu frightening, how would you find what you wanted quickly enough!
Most scenery is seen through the corner of the driver's eye as he/she watches out for signal etc, and doesn't have to be too detailed. If you watch the passengers on a station platform too closely they appear and disappear in the most inappropriate places, but out of the corner of your eye as you run into a station they look alright. I don't watch them getting into my train either, they too often get in the wrong side of the open coach door, or disappear in the gap between the coach and the platform!
It's great to see road vehicles going over bridges though. It's very realistic when you get three or four red busses all together one after the other!

Re: RS Worries
The same as RS,you remember the names of textures that look the best,or in the case of TRS they included a kind of quick pick favorites pallet (the ones you use the most),out of the 300 or so textures on the HD,I only used about 20-30 good textures, then 10-15 to blend two textures together, giving a seamless join of the desired texture sets.Oldpufferspotter wrote:how would you find what you wanted quickly enough!
