West Somerset Railway

What a wonderful week!

On top of Geoff's wonderful South Devon Banks we get this beauty. Have done the first station stop and based on what I have seen so far this is of commercial quality. Look forward to carrying on with it.

A really big thanks KEVIN - I can see why this would take 14 months for you to do all alone. Having traveled on the line last November I am re-living my trip!!

Thank you Kevin for a really stunning route. It is really fantastic and the detail is superb and so realistic. You say it is version 1 cannot wait for the next edition.

The best freeware route by far Tim Gatland should give you a job. Excellent work.

Here's the UKTS assets compiled for those downloading the route. I found it much quicker to get them all this way, so hopefully it's of some use.

Hi Keven
Like most comments this really is top draw work. Have now worked from Taunton through to Minehead, fantastic detail. I very much like the way that you can start the run from Taunton, and I thank you for sharing it with us. well done

This particular item is in everybody's copy of Rail Simulator. If you follow the path you have quoted it should be there.

Missing this item, however, will not prevent Rail Simulator loading this route. There has to be another problem.
Missing track items such as the IOW track would stop loading. Have you got the Isle of Wight add-on route installed on your computer?

Don't the developer example objects only come with the developer tool kit? So if he hasn't downloaded the tools then he won't have those assets. I'm not too sure where the route creator will have used a bright orange and blue sample house though :-?

Hi Pete

When you spend a long time building a route sometimes you forget what you have included and items get unintentionally left behind in hills or under bushes.
Kevin has been innovative in his route building and I would not be surprised if an example building was used for something.
Have you seen what the Pill Boxes are - just the top of a building. Three storey buildings become two storey buildings, and so on. Very clever.
There is a lot going on under the ground and I am not talking moles.

I think you may be right when you say that the example models all came with the developer tools so anyone running the basic sim will have missing examples if they have been used - even in their bright colours.
