West Somerset Railway Released

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

icepak\ice\kabel_produkt_nr2\kabel_produkt_nr2.bin
icepak\ice\mietshaus_nr1\mietshaus_nr1.bin

Wilburton\Stockton\scenery\buildings\pf_lfoffice.bin

Clues and/or hints would be appreciated.

Regards,

Bob.
The two icepak items are from Rail-Sim.de. For the kabel product I did a search and installed the three items listed
http://www.rail-sim.de/railsim/index.ph ... fo/id,141/
http://www.rail-sim.de/railsim/index.ph ... fo/id,133/
http://www.rail-sim.de/railsim/index.ph ... fo/id,139/

though Iam not sure if all are needed as it might just be part of the first link

For the mietshaus the following link is what you want
http://www.rail-sim.de/railsim/index.ph ... nfo/id,82/

The last one should be http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... leid=19959

Again, I'm not too sure if these are the exact ones you are missing:

I'm missing that one too, and it's not in that sign pack (or any others I've been able to find), any suggestions please?

I haven't been able to find it either, it doesn't seem to be on UKTS or RS-Trainsim.co.uk ( their download section is available again ). Some have said that it might be part of one of his routes fwiw.

It is the "Don't cross sign" in the RS-trainsim.co.uk downloads section

Hi, I am a beginner to Rail Sim. I own the RailSimulator India Version distributed by EA.

I am quite fascinated by your western somerset route.
I have managed to install all the addons as mentioned in the ReadMeFirst file, except for the following three as these
are payware and could not afford for these at the moment
- RSDL,ISLE OF WIGHT ROUTE. ESSENTIAL!
- RSDL, CAJON PASS ROUTE. ESSENTTIAL!
- RSDL,FOLIAGE PACK.
Is it really possible to use the western somerset route without the above three?

I found my Rail Simulator loads the route and i am able to drive the train. But the railway Tracks are missing.
(The train runs on the grass )

Do I need a specific addon to get the tracks?

Thanks a lot,
Samjosh.

Isle Of White essential! You need this addon for the tracks, plus lots of scenery items too that's why they are essential. So no you cant run the route without these addons. :)

Hi

It is actually possible to run the route without these items if you use Mike Simpson's 'Tools' program to substitute the required items. e.g. the Isle of White track can be substituted with the default track and foliage pack items with default items. You will need the licensed version of 'Tools' do this (donation fee) and it requires some knowledge of the way Rail Simulator works.

The Isle of White route is well worth the cost and so is the foliage pack and many other free routes on UKTS require these add-ons for the user to get the best effect.

Hi Samjosh.
Geoff is correct it is possible to use Mike Simpsons RS tools to swap the IOW track and foliage for the RS default items, but i would urge you buy IOW it is not only a superb route,it contains some fantastic items, such as the track textures and other assets, the RSDL foliage pack is great value aswell and takes routes to a new level of detail.
However, all these items will be included in the upcomming RS2 Railworks pack that is due for release in late june so that is worth considering.

Kevin I dont think this is the case as RSderek said on Train-SIm.com
Hi,

None of the items for sale in the RS shop will be included in RW's.

If you start a route in RS, it will work in RW's, my WVR route was started in RS, it now works perfectly in RW's.
You will be able to package it up and install it into RW's
More information on that closer to release.

The only area that there might be problems is if you have created Scenarios on the German route, that is not confirmed yet, we will let you know when we have carried out our testing.

regards

Derek.

Hi,

Obviously (as it has been stated many times) the York-Newcastle and Cajon Pass don't count they are both included.

best regards

Derek

Hi Mart / Geoff / Kevin,
Thanks for all the info. Sure I will consider buying IOW. I will also take a look at the Mike Simpsons RS tools.

Best Regards,
Samjosh
