Class 25 sounds now available!

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Fantastic sounds thanks so much. Your efforts have made DT's smart model come to life.
I've just had a few hours fun batting around with it, damn, its after midnight! :o

Hi all,
I've downloaded these sounds for the Class 25, and I would just like to ask if you installed them with the supplied AssetSetup.exe file without any problems or any extra work to do with .bin files etc?
Why do I ask? It's the first time I've come across an AssetSetup.exe, and there is another thread here asking how to uninstall some Mk3 coach sounds, and quoting a 'read me' file that had some obscure instructions on using Mike Simpson's RS_Tools_Pro to alter some .bin files to get the sounds to play! I hope nothing like that is involved in installing these sounds.
regards Ted.

I will upload it to UKTS soon, i just want to make sure there's no additional changes that need to be made first.
stuart666: Yes i see what you mean, i will try and beef up the horn and reupload.
KeithBridges: Did you install the Class 25 first? If you install the sounds first and the 25 afterwords they will not work.
Hi i did install the class 25.
Chris

Nikos - really good effort with these, really taken the model on another stage. Well done and thanks for making them available.

Keith - I had this, I'm running the Windows 7 beta, but I suspect it might be the same in Vista, probably due to permissions. What I did was copy the folder from the zip and paste in manually into the relevant folder, then delete the blueprint files manually too, and it worked straight away. Hope you get it sorted as it's definately worth it!
HI
I tryed what you said Squatch and it works!! thanks squatch and thanks Nikos for making it!

Hi Ted,

I used the 'AssetSetup.exe' to install the Class 25 Sounds and they installed (similar to how a .rpk does) with no problems and excellent they are too. Remember to 'back up' your Assets folder before you install the Sounds so if you don't like them you can go back to the Class 47 sounds because unfortunately there is no uninstall feature with the AssetSetup (to the best of my knowledge) :-?

Also you have to keep the spacebar held down if you want to hear the full 'Loop' of the Classs 25 horn.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for that info. I do keep all my Rail Sim stuff backed up, I am a very cautious person in that respect, I once had to reinstall a small computer system at work right from scratch from the 'bootstrap' program (many years ago)!
I am also very cautious about what I download and install, one reads about so many problems with.xml files etc on this forum, so you'll understand why I asked about the AssetSetup.exe file. Mike Simpson has also replied to me in the other thread, so I'm now 'ready to go' with the install.
regards Ted.

No problem Ted, go ahead and load it you won't regret it (remembering to back up your Assets, just in case).
