The Digital Traction vote.

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

I'm looking forward to DT locos too, but let's not get too excited. Most of the clay renders, not to mention a few fully textured locos, were originally posted by DT many months ago. Hopefully DT are getting to grips with the bottlenecks that have prevented any of these being released so far, but presumably it will be some time before many of them are made available.

What would most like to buy.
Frankly, all of 'em! No, really. 8)

In order of personal preference, it'd probably be the Whistler (even tho' it's absent from the current crop of renders), the Chopper, the 9F, the 87 and the other great stuff they've got in the wings.

At the risk of straying off-topic, I'd like to see someone release a bogie tank wagon, e.g. a TEA. There are some particularly fine examples of cruddy, grimy, rusty and oily TEAs here :D

It would have to be the 9F. I stood on the footplate of Evening Star at the Steam Museum in swindon, and its a really nicely laid out cab. Sitting in the drivers seat, its almost as nicely laid out as the Class 66! Such a handsome looking locomotive too. Hard to believe it was once left to go derelict.

Incidentally, what is the 4-4-0? Looks like one of those rather nice machines used by the MSWJR.

Thanks for the new Large Prairie chaps, top stuff. Throw in a GWR reskin and it's on my "To Buy" list when you release the payware version

Yes, thanks very much for the new loco - it's superb! I too would be interested in buying the payware version of this and any other steamers produced by DT to this high standard.

Cheers

Hi stuart666,
The 4-4-0 looks like a Midland 2P to me. They used to appear regularly on the S & D, particularly piloting The Pines Express. They are some old favourites of mine, together with their compatriates, the Midland Compounds, which looked similar, except that they had outside cylinders.

Cheers,
Ged

Thanks for that. I thought it might have been midlands, but I didnt want to betray my ignorance.:) Handsome looking machines, I think this and the 9F would be on the top of my list.

I think you'll find the 4-4-0 is a standard LMS Fowler 2P. It was based on the Fowler 483 Class produced by the Midland Railway.

The Midland and LMS-built compounds where more powerful three-cylinder engines and were Class 4P. I'd really like to see a compound and the 2P would make a perfect starting point for the designer.
