Dabears End Version 1

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Dabears End Version 1

Post by batling »

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd let you know that Dabears End V1 has been uploaded to UKTS and should be available in the next few days (I hope, if I've got it right! :o ).

Image

For those that haven't seen the thread in Screenshots, its a shunting route based on a model railway stylee making as much use of the train jumping feature as possible. It includes a fiddle yard and a scenic section with all scenery kept to line of site only for maximum frame rates (a little idea I wanted to try when RS first came out and stuttering was a HUGE problem for me).
The route is meant to work in Free Play with AI traffic so you can mess about shunting whatever you like and still have the realism of a working station while your doing it. Included is a Free Roam scenario with AI to start off with, however I've not written any scenarios as part of the idea is to put in whatever stock you like and just drive :D .

Its my first route and hopefully I've packaged it correctly but if not contact me and I'll do what I can to sort it.

Anyway, its something a little different, I hope you enjoy it!

Kind Regards
Ant :D

Hi Ant
Your route is fantastic and perfomed faultlessly
Congratulations on this delightful addition to Rail Simulator
This charming route reminds me of my railway modelling days
This route is the equivalent of a diorama in modelling terms where you have the main stage for public viewing
and behind the scenes "Off Stage" the traverser for setting up the next scene etc
Thanks once again for providing such a charming route it is a treasure
Kind regards Stephen

Thanks Stephen,

I'm glad you like it and that it works well.
It is indeed meant to be a diorama of sorts - and is meant to give smooth frame rates no matter how many locos are on the stabling point. As my PC isn't the best, I find it gives you a massive sense of realism ( which is what does it for me! )

Kind Regards
