Changing time of day

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Changing time of day

Post by scotrains »

Hi all,

I'm having a little problem when trying to change the time in my scenario on the Newcastle - York route. Quite simply it doesn't change. It always defaults back to 1000 when I enter back into the scenario after editing it. I know it's just a small question and probably simple to fix but any advice please?

Cheers :D

Either that or when you have made the change double click on the screen and you should see the weather update.

Thanks.

Sorry to hijack but I didn't know you could do that? I usually click on the time in the box at the bottom next to the play button. Has the same effect anyway.

If you download RS_Kickstart from the library, you can change not only the start time of the scenario, but also change all the AI traffic start times by the same amount as well.

Second that. RS itself has a mysterious bug where it will refuse to change a scenario's start time in [certain?] circumstances. This will hopefully be fixed in Mk3 but until then the above is your best solution.

Hi

Cicking on the time box at bottom of the screen always sets the changes for me. No logic to it really but it works.

You have to change the time in the scenario icon first, and then double click the clock at the bottom. It works every time, and was one of the first things I learnt.

If after changing the time in the scenario box and this is the only change made, the programme allows you to exit without saving the changes. Pressing F2 for some reason gives the message that there is no change to be saved. However, if you nudge the scenario icon a little (or move very slightly some other piece of scenery), the save changes to scenario option will automatically appear when you exit the programme and the time change will be saved. Alternatively, pressing F2 will now allow the change to be saved.

Hi

Have to agree with Moranb, F2 some times ignores the request to save.

I've had this problem too, although i havent tried making a proper scenario, but on a free roam scenario i just move an item of stock slightly each time after changing the time of day/season etc and it will ask for a save. For example, with my most recent shots:

http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 16&t=91820

I kept moving the Ivatt on and off the tracks each time, that way it allowed me to save.

Hi

For those that do not know, when you place scenario specific scenery in a scenario, you have to move something else that is already there in order to save the scenario specific scenery that you have placed. On a couple of occasions I have placed scenery in a scenario but not nudged something else and everything I had placed had gone when I went back into the scenario to work on it.
