MSVCR71.dll (Vista 64bit)

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

MSVCR71.dll (Vista 64bit)

Post by JunGRail »

Hi I went to install Voyager - i have package manager installed and the serz was in the main RS folder but cut and pasted it into System32. And still the problem persists, i did a regsvr32 MSVCR71.dll check and it said this version is not compatible with x86 64bit vista. Anyone know where i can get the 64bit version, i know it should of come with windows but it wasn't in there.

I just put the dll into the syswow64 folder and was able to install the foliage pack when I had the same problem recently.

The Hint is in the name System32 is the 32-bit system folder, the System folder in XP is a 16-bit hangover from Windows 3.11 and 95 compatibility.

There were originally 2 different 64-bit instruction sets, AMD's won. Intel's kind of died into specialist server, and then died there too.
