Its all moved about!

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Its all moved about!

Post by batling »

Hey - I've just noticed the RS forums shifted its place in the index.

And the MSTS2 forum has been taken down, thats a bit early surely. I'd have thought people would still want to talk about it especially if an offshoot company starts as was being discussed?

Just wondered why, no offence intended! :D

Well if people want to discuss the future of trainsimming they can discuss it in the general simulation section. Have you noticed how it's in alphabetical order.

Hi,

Yes I had, its just that 5 minutes ago I couldn't access that forum so couldn't see the topics.

I was just used to the layout thats all, I keep looking near the top of the page for RS. In fact it always puzzled me that it wasn't in alphabetical order before.

And, in this case, alphabetical orders can be subtly manipulated! I call it RS though, not KRS or EARS, since both seem pointless. It is now in the hands of RSDL, so may be RSDLRS is more appropriate. What a mouthful.
They have listened and opened a general simulation forum. Hopefully we have an outlet for constructive debate. I'm sure it will be a mixture of strong and light-hearted debate. Like most things in life, variety is key. I might raise the concept of an 'Open Rail Simulator'. The clash of brains on this forum would be better utilised constructively rather than destructively. Hopefully the moderators will moderate it in a way where they do not react if the comments do not align with their own preference of sims!

Alpha sorted by company, yes, but not by popularity or by title. IMHO, MSTS1 and RS should be at the top...
Cheers!

Indeed, no one posts in the Trainz section here, RS and MSTS should be back at the top, dare i say with RS on the very top.

You are indeed daring. You face the wrath of the moderators.
I'll do my zippy impression. :o

EDIT: Before I get slapped to heavily, I do know of situations where the moderators are subtle and do the best thing for all those involved. They don't seem to like heavy train simulation engine discussions though.

Hi

I am inclined to agree with you on this RS and MSTS placed at the top of the page, or if you want it alphabetically MSTS, RS and then Trainz.
Must admit I was surprised to see Trainz at the start.

I see it's still called MSTS1. I thought it would have reverted to MSTS.

Yes I agree, I did prefer it with the newest simulator at the top, I keep clicking BVE by accident now.
