Pannier 57xx Release

You will find that the Pannier 57xx is now available... 3 GWR Green versions(I've tried to match the green as close as possible to Kevs Collet), 2 BR Black versions and 1 Red London Transport.
You will also find that the G class singles, BoB Sir Eustace Missenden and BoB Spitfire have been upgraded.
With Regard to the Pannier please note the following...
Cab and Crew... these are Aliased to the RSDL IOW 0-4-0 Invincible... so you need this to use them(or at least if you want a cab view and crew). I'm unsure at the moment if the new CD version of this supplied by Just Flight is installed in the same place and therefore will work with my model. I already bought these (the IOW and class 66) as downloads from RSDL so I'm not willing to buy them again in order to find out. Lets cross that bridge when we come to it.
Repainting...
I'm going to allow repainting of the Panniers on the following proviso...
You may repaint the Pannier Tanks and upload them for others to enjoys so long as you can make use of what I've already produced and dont bother me with it. I dont want to use time I could be model making providing repaint support. To that end a brief explanation of how the models have been textured has been provided.
With the excemption of the london Transport model the bulk of the models have ben textured using square colour swatches... two for each color...one for the basic Colour... one for the rivet heads in that colour... for example the textures Green57 and GreenRiv cover most of the green areas on the GWR models. The only exceptions to this are the wheel texture, the boiler/firebox which are dealt with on the texture Main57 and the lettering which is dealt with on a texture called decal57 or something similar. The crests and lettering are done on 2D polys making use of the alpha channel to tell RS what is transparent and what is not. Because of the added complexity of the London Transport Livery Lining I had to add two additional textures (they have lining in the name so you can identify them)
Lettering on BR and LT models... I used Gill Sans font... on GWR I used Arial Black on Buffer Beams and on Cab Plates I used the letters which I have supplied in photoshop format with a sample of the layer style I used. Thanks to Paul Gausden and Longbow for the info I used to create these.

Very nicely done. I can't remember when the top three bars of UKTS's newest releases were for Rail Simulator, and mostly from a single author. Incredible.
Thank you.
Very much appreciated although marred slightly that it may be one of the last you release.

Hi "MDIvey"
I downloaded your GWR and installed it, what a good looking model, many thanks indeed.
I have run the GWR even though I have not got the IOW on my computer at this time ( no cab view of coarse).
The Pannier looks and runs very nicely indeed.
Again many thanks
Mike

Hi Matt
Many thanks for all your work, these panniers are really fantastic. Just one thing, nothing to do with your work, the Driver and Fireman are floating above the engine?
Just copied the folders into my "secondary" folder on a different drive and they are back inside the cab. I am waiting to download another one, the fourth, to see if that corrects their position. If not I will live with it because I only use the C drive to load all new models to.
Again, thanks for your skill in expanding the stock available, gotta find a way to use 3DC myself but cannot get my head round it, too old I think!
Best wishes
John (matraw)

Hi John
I have just downloaded all of the panniers and all crew are in the right place and the cabs are correct.
You do need to have the Isle of Wight route enabled otherwise you will not get a cab and possibly nothing for the crew to stand on. Perhaps that is why they are floating.
PS. You are never too old to do anything!

Sorry John no idea why you are getting floating crew...I dont think its anything i've done...I've notcied a few post from people of a similar problem with integral stock.... no idea why. All I can say is make sure you have the RSDL IOW pack installed ok and that you have all the RSDL and Kuju options ticked in a any free roam scenarios you want to use the Pannier in. Maybe someone else will be able to offer a more specific solution.

Hi Matt
I tried putting your other models into the sim but it has made no difference. I do have IOW installed and was trying to run them on it. Did notice though that there was no smoke showing, unlike the models on my D drive which were directly copied and pasted from the C.
It is very strange but, as I said before, I dont tend to run RS on the C because it is overloaded with all the new models which slows the loading times to a crawl.
Many thanks for your reply and Acorncomputers. It's nice, the help you give to those of us who need more than a little.
Great models as ever
Cheers
John

Hi John
I did for a while have RS installed on a stripe D and later E drive of a mirrored RAID system on the basis that the program would load faster from the stripe but as most add-ons seem to install on drive C without any opportunity to change the location, I was finding that the add-ons were installing into folders on drive C that looked anything like the Rail Simulator folder. It took a lot of juggling folder to get the installation to the right place so the answer to this problem was just to accept that the right place to install RS was Drive C and since then I have had no problems installing any new RS programs or add-ons.
