DT MK1s

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

The first steamers won't be long, we're just fettling a pair to be out shortly after the coaches, though I'm going to be secretive and not tell you what. One of them you've already seen from us, the other is a total surprise (And yours truely's first RS model).

Here you go. Very nice models. Hope the maroon and green ones will be less weathered as would befit their status as top link coaches in the 50's and 60's. And may we have a BG, GUVs and CCTs to follow please DT?

These look to me to be a considerable improvement over the default KRS Mk1's, which I've always thought looked as if they had a bit of Mk2 DNA:

As a fan of parcels trains, I can assure you the BG, GUV and CCT varients are on their way. It's our intention to eventually offer all varients (As far as is practical) of the MK1. The Maroon version is currently in the paint shop, and looking good (Check the website for a WIP), however it still retains the same level of weathering, something we will change before release.

I can say that the loco won't be the A4, or the 4MT. Sorry and all that. I can't actually tell you what the loco is, as I want it to be a surprise. However, I do like to tease, and so I'll give you all a clue. The loco we plan to release is the only one we've made that doesn't survive in preservation. If you get it, keep it quiet, please.

Has the picture lost some quality in the jpeg compression, there seems to me to be very odd textures on the blue part of the paintwork?

Now theres an idea, although a CEP would be easier as all you would need to do to the model is add traction motors and cut windows in the front and add some brake pipes and a headcode box and of course the shoe gear.
