RS KickStart

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

RS KickStart

Post by wmeimes »

Anybody knows why RS KickStart crashes giving the message:

...error- subscript out of range ocurred in frmshowroutes_load i=0...

Tool opens showing no route whatsoever. Problem was intermitent but eventualy became permanent. Unisntalled and re-installed to no avail.

Thanks Walter :(

Hi Walter,

As the error shows i=0 where 'i' is the number of routes, it is not finding any routes in your Routes.xml file.

I would suspect this is because it is not looking in the correct folder - when you run Kickstart, does it display the correct path on the top edge of the startup screen, e.g. RS_Kickstart Version 1.0.80 Rail Simulator path in use = c:\Program files\Rail Simulator

If not, go to the Options menu on the startup screen and select the correct path.

Hi Mike, I'm getting a problem with KS .80 - any time I try to substitute one piece of rolling stock in a scenario with another, I am getting a 'stop statement encountered' message followed by CTD. This seems to affect all routes, all scenarios, all types of traction and all content providers so doesn't seem to be anything in a routes .xml file or similar.

I have reverted to .63 and the problem has gone, so there may be something in the updated file that's causing the bug.

IHi Paul,

Sorry about that, looks like the quality control staff (me) forgot to remove some debug code. Will fix asap.

I will also check that problem for Jaap.

OK, v1.0.82 is on my site at http://members.optusnet.com.au/virtualt ... loads.html

I have fixed the 'Stop' bug.

Jaap's error message appears to have possibly been caused by trying to edit a scenario with invalid start-time? I have changed the code so that it will still load the scenario even if this error occurs, but please check the data to make sure that everything appears to be valid.

Please advise if this does not work, as I do not know which scenario you were working on.
