Class 57?

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Class 57?

Post by dean1986 »

Is it possible to use a class 47 shell and 66 sound to make a class 57? Has anyone thought about doing this?

I think I've seen one somewhere else (mebbe on the train-sim.com site), though I suspect it was "just" a reskin of a 47 (I say just knowing that I've no idea how to do one).

The 66 sounds would be innacurate, the 57 used a EMD 645 which is much different (and much better sounding!) than the 710 in the 66. I have a 57 soundset WIP, i stopped working on it as i was having hell trying to modify the engine specs and get the sound blueprint right.

Hi Dean and everyone reading this post
There are Class 47s that have been made to resemble Class57s on RS-Trainsims website.
At the moment there are no Class 57's available so if this is a must have then the nearest you are going to get is one of the re-skinned 47's
Kind regards Stephen
Ps Hopefully some new models will arrive on Rail Simulator over time.
