Hmmmmm the wagon packs are available :)

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

hi it wasnt that, the rate at which the acceleration took place was too fast for it to be a gradient, more like falling off a cliff

I've seen this complaint somewhere else (either the offical forums or here), so it has been brought up before. Seems it might be something for the mk3 fix...

Sorry I can't provide links as I can't remember where I saw it :)

This is happening to me also. After braking slightly, the whole train accelerates again like a sports car .

Yes this is very much a known problem. Adam i understand is fixing some of the physics of the wagons.

hi, since you mention it, i do remember such a thread and even replied in it, may have even suggested the gradient point of view, i didnt understand the problem at the time but now ive seen it happen to me i do understand. there are a lot of people who are willing to knock this sim, personally i think they want to much or they're too pedantic but i do believe even with its problems this is still the best there is. this isnt a problem that would change this point of view but i do worry that as it seems to be a very intermitant problem it will be very hard to find the cause, not enough evidence to support it

cheers

I dont know if this will be of any help or not but here goes.I was running the "Cement duty" scenario last night and noticed that when i was off the main track and heading for "Thorney Mill1",the problem disappeared and all was normal again.
This problem only started a few days ago and seems to be only on the Ox-Padd route and with freight scenarios.(so far anyway)As this has just started to happen,i did wonder if maybe the Mk2 upgrade had knocked something out of whack on this route but,i honestly have no idea.
Others may be seeing things slightly different than me and if so,it might be interesting to hear what they are as it might narrow this thing down for an easier solution
Anyway,just trying to help

Hector.

I had this problem after i installed the wagon sound pack from Armstrong Powerhouse with the tta's, and yes i have noticed the same effect with the cement wagons

I think they're fine with short rakes but the longer you make the rake, that's when problems start arising. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

I can confirm that Ive seen the issue, however so far Ive been unable to isolate the occurance on a test route.

Test Case:
Winter setting, rainy weather, 1in204 uphill gradient, Oxfo-Padd Concrete Clean track, Class 47 with 15 PCA wagons.
Accelerate to 40mph, release throttle, wait till engine RPM levels at 200.
Apply train brake to 50%, until speed is reduced to 30mph
Release train brake fully, and train speed settles at around 27.5mph

In the Cement Duty scenario however, the train speed accelerates to roughly 35mph before returning to the gradual reduction expected when the engine is idling.

Hi,
I have just put the "Cement Duty" scenario through Mike Simspsons "Kick start" utility.I changed the season to summer with clear conditions and this time, the train, brakes and so on behaved as they should.Would this mean then that the weather on this route can have some sort of odd impact at times?.I could try other weather conditions, different locos if it might be of any help.

Hiya,

This is exactly what I found. However when changing all the environment settings to that of the conditions found in the Cement Duty scenario, I was unable to recreate the issue.
