I don't see why the 3870 would have any problems at all with anisotropic filtering. My old X1950 was fine with 8x anisotropic filtering and my new 4870 positively flys along with 16x. Even 4x should significantly help with this issue, but I'd suggest cranking it all the way up and then back off if you find you need to.Squatch wrote:Thanks for the replies chaps - I've got a ati 3870, which I believe isn't too hot at anisotropic filtering. Yeah, you're right, doesn't seem to any problem at all at x16. Must've been thinking about something else. How are you liking your 4870?
