I'm glad you like them, I thought £2.99 was a fair price.

Bought these too and the do sound great - only one question - they work fine on the train I'm driving, sounds brilliant, especially the tankers, however when a AI train with tankers went past, the sounds seemed to be the original ones. Now I haven't checked further (and I may have misheard!) but thought I'd ask whether they were all now meant to have the new sounds.
Anyway, really good effort, very atmospheric.

They do work on passing trains, sounds louder if you are outside thoughSquatch wrote:Bought these too and the do sound great - only one question - they work fine on the train I'm driving, sounds brilliant, especially the tankers, however when a AI train with tankers went past, the sounds seemed to be the original ones. Firstly, thanks for the compliment! Getting to the matter at hand though, are the tankers on the AI train definitely the default white ones? The only other explanation I can think of is that at that particular moment of the time, there were a lack of resources and consequently, the sounds didn't play.

I see what you mean now, I don't know what happened there, firstly, the soundset you say is the VP185 sounds like the original default sounds but with the new horn and different AWS bell. I think something must have gone wrong when I released my freeware valenta set and I accidently put in a different AWS bell. Because the VP185 soundset is aliased to use the bell in the Default/Valenta folder, it'll be using the one in my valenta sound set. I'm then confused at how you're able to get two different sort of bells!
I'll have a look in the freeware Valenta pack and have a look at the bell sound, I've got a feeling it shouldn't be there

Right, I've just checked the three versions I've released of my Valenta soundset and none of them contain that other bell, you must have got it from somewhere else, hmm.

Wow, whacky manphat2003uk wrote:Right, I've just checked the three versions I've released of my Valenta soundset and none of them contain that other bell, you must have got it from somewhere else, hmm.
Any how the sound problems i am experiencing are not localised to your scenario except the crackling from the centre speaker, that is? The horn sounds on the 66 only half play, the engine sounds too fade out then wallop back in? think i will have a look at my audio control set up and see if anything is amiss there/ will also run dxdiag too.
P.S just downloaded the Mk3 sounds too! Thanks

Hmm, does this fading sound different to the fading in my video? If so, it would seem that maybe unfortunately your sound hardware isn't up for it but if it's the same, that's unfortunately how Rail Simulator seems to handle fading at the moment
.. I recommend you get a Sounblaster X-Fi card if you haven't done so already.

Re: Second product from 'The Armstrong Powerhouse'
I have the x-fi Fatal1ty xtreme gamer pro, However vista is reporting problems with some of the enhancements with my card, so that is a driver issue i would expect, however i have tried it on my XP instalation where there is no such conflict and the issues are still there, i checked dxdiag and all is well, and checked the settings and the 5.1 setting had reverted to 2.1 somehow? Going to give your scenario another go and listen to those lovely Mk3 soundsphat2003uk wrote:Hmm, does this fading sound different to the fading in my video? Re: Second product from 'The Armstrong Powerhouse'
Ah, turning the speakers to 2.1 distorts the sound on my computer too, I'm quite confident that once you've turned back to 5.1, it will be fine, we will see though
