Talyllyn Rly Dolgoch

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

Talyllyn Rly Dolgoch

Post by g0fthick »

I just downloaded this today, the model's great, but it seems very quiet.

As in, there's no sound besides the whistle. Just wanted to know if this was an isolated issue or not.

She's certainly got a meaty whistle for an old lady! I get all the other sounds too.

I'm still a bit concerned about the whereabouts of the other crewman.
I think he might still be brewing-up in the boiler, but I can't see his legs sticking out at the bottom.

Hmm, seems a bit odd that it's isolated, I'll try a few things and see if that fixes it.

I had the same problem, but it was fixed when I downloaded and installed the Corris locos and stock. Corris no.2 loco then appears with wagons in the free roam scenario, and Dolgoch now has sound, so it must be aliased to the Corris loco. :D

Just to confirm that the same thing happened to me. :)

Just noticed this topic.

I have made an error in the sound files and the Corris locos need to be installed to get hear the sound. I'll try and release a fixed file, soon.

Hi Kevin

I also have a problem with Dolgoch in that the boiler will not automatically fill when running in intermediate mode and I reach meltdown after a few miles. Can you check this out too please.

Hi, does it in expert mode too - injectors don't seem to do anything except empty boiler quicker. Is it down to the lower boiler pressures in these locos that's stopping them working?

Hi

I think Kevin is looking into this but I believe you can get a good run at the moment in simple driving mode. This loco is still work in progress so a few bugs are to be expected.

Haven't seen any update to this little problem but I have been having a look at these injector issues for my own TR locos and I discovered that in Expert mode with Auto Fireman off, the Firemans Injector works Ok but the Drivers injector doesn't.
Anyone found this to be the case as well?
Can't find a reason as yet but just thought I'd let you know.

Re: Talyllyn Rly Dolgoch - Injectors

Post by spontin »

Further to my previous posting, I think I may have solved the problem with the AutoFireman not keeping the boiler level correct.

The problem appears to be that the AutoFireman can’t use the injectors and I think that is because Dolgoch’s Simulation Blueprint has two “Live Steam Injector” entries instead of the usual one Live Steam and one Exhaust Steam entries. From what I’ve read, the fireman in RS & RW uses the Exhaust Steam injector and I think that the Auto Fireman doesn’t see this entry and therefore doesn’t work.

This theory maybe rubbish but when I edited the Simulation BIN file using the RW_Tools app and changed one of the Type entries to Exhaust, then it seems to work under Expert Controls & AutoFireman ON so have concluded that this maybe the reason.
Perhaps someone else can check whether this has fixed the issue again.
I've let Kevin Martin know about this and he'll no doubt be in touch on the forum at some point.

Hi Steve

I recall that Kevin did some work on this but did not get around to publishing a fix. Perhaps a reminder will help!

If I did then I've clean forgot what it was :)

Cheers,
