MK2 coach uploads

Unfortunately, somebody has uploaded the DT MK2e coaches to their own site. Whether this was in error or not, I don't know. At first, we thought they were just reskins, unfortunately, it turns out they're the entire models. I would urge the owner of the site to make contact with us at DT as soon as possible to discuss this matter, and would urge any of you who come across these coaches to avoid downloading them, any download from an unauthorised source is theft. We do have a log of who has bought from us, so even posting screenshots is out, should you download without purchasing.
We are a small company, very small, we have no financial backing. We ask that you pay for our items so that we can then develop more items. Plans, sound recordings etc all cost money, as do field trips to gather data. Without income, DT folds, and our content goes unreleased, which is to the detriment of all. I just wish this hadn't happened, it's left a bad taste in our mouths, we will certainly be more careful, and perhaps a little less giving in future.

Edit; - The fact the sub heading of this site "deleted by moderator" is "deleted by moderator" just makes it worse. it's blatant theft.

This is sad to hear and I hope the owner of that site learns.

I think this has spoiled a very good first release from Digital traction and from a company that is going to give Rail Simulator so much over the coming months and years.
Loads of new Steam and Diesel and if there in line with their Mk2 coaches they shld be amazing and more coach stock which shld add alot of Diemensions to the Simulator
im with you Digital traction
Cheers Ben

If you don't get a satisfactory response in very short order I suggest you contact their ISP. A reputable ISP will take a very dim view of copyright theft. Hope all works out well for you.

Until we get a response from "deleted by moderator", we can't commit to any more releases, the threat of theft at present looms large. I appeal to members of that site to move swiftly, take our coaches off the site, and respond suitably to us, for the benefit of the entire community.
Contacting the ISP has crossed our minds, it's just finding who they use that's the current issue...

Do a whois on the domain or ip, it should give some contact details.

Hmm, that is a little odd: the website in question says this: "IMPORTANT NOTICE. You will require the MK2 e coaches payware pack from Digital Traction for these re-skins to work."
There are quite a number of other downloads that are reskins for payware (the class 66 and class 08), which have the same notice. It is not impossible that there is a mistake somewhere, and whoever uploaded them thought that they were only reskins, whereas, in fact, they contain the entire models.
On the other hand, are you sure that they do contain the entire models?

We are completely sure that they contain the complete models. We made sure first. Maybe this is a mistake, maybe it isn't, until somebody from that site contacts us, we don't know. I have two modellers here who are livid and want me to get results. I, myself, am angry, and currently not looking at this situation with my usual benevolant gaze. At the present moment it constitutes theft, and that's all there is to it, anything else is peripheral.

I've deleted the references to the site in question, so that UKTS members aren't led astray!

http://www.whois.net/gives the domain registrant's name and his address!

Thankyou all for the various responses, we've used whois and think we know where we stand. We'll be contacting the hosting company shortly. Mods, thanks for removing the site name, I was reluctant to place it, but decided it was neccessary.

The only way I can see to contact them is to sign up on the forum and then pm the team members.

I've just seen the site and to be honest, given that UKTS is usually the one stop place for all things regarding RS or MSTS, I can't see the point of it.
I've also seen the coaches but, don't worry DT. I'll be buying them. It's people like yourselves that deserve support.

We are currently discussing the matter with the site administrator and hope to sort it out as soon as possible. As it stands it's unlikely the site will have permission to upload any Digital Traction related works in the future.
