Digital Traction's Mk2E Coach Pack now available!

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

We are looking at how best to show passengers, as passengers sat in coaches in sidings looks odd, as, likewise, does an express of empty stock. We'll report back when we make progress.

I was thinking, can passengers just not be treated as a 'load' such as coal in a freight wagon. So when the box is ticked, the coach is empty but as default there are passengers when the box is unticked? I feel this would be better than having to tick each coach on a service train to get passengers. I suspect there will be more service train coaches than empty ones.

We were thinking the exact same thing, we do need RSDL to enable this, though, as currently, goods wagons can't load at stations, and passenger coaches can't be unloaded. It's possible within the structure of the game, we just need RSDL to inform us of exactly how we should go about it, and we can then pass this directly on to you.

I'm not interested in the Mk2's as my era is steam but I would be interested in purchasing the Mk 1 Restaurant. Will that be available as a separate standalone download for those of us only interested in the steam era or will we be forced to buy the Mk2's as well? If the latter were the case it might put many of us off the idea.

My interest area is steam as well, and that holds for the rest of us here. The MK1 will be available with other MK1 coaches in liveries suitable for the steam era, however, the RBR will not be available as such, as they were refurbished in the 70s. The similar RB will, however, be included. We'll give out more details when the rest of the MK1s approach completion, don't worry, we fully intend to cater for the pre-1968 scene.

Congratulations DT on production of the Mk2e set - they are stunning and the promised addition of an Mk1 RBR makes it very well worth the money. Many thanks indeed. :D :D :D

The aws buzzer did the same and for some strange reason the train stopped itself on a green? :o inless the aws worked but i didnt hear it?

Not saying this is a problem with the scenero as ive had this problem before after driveing for more that 3 hours on my route....

Very nice coaches. Just completed the Sunday Oxford?/Reading scenario-whew mrobably the trickiest I have ever done. Only SPADed once and once forgot to press the AWS reset. Very bumpy for the poor passengers!

You can use Mike Simpsons RsKickstart to remove passengers from coaches and drivers from rear locos. It creates a separate file for them so it does not overwrite the originals. It would seem that very few people know about this, from the number of posts I have seen on a lot of foums, of people complaining about passengers sitting in carriages in sidings, and drivers in rear locos.

They look great!

I have not bought them yet but will do this weekend.

As for the passengers, loaded/unloaded issue, it is something we have discussed at length. We also had the idea of using them as freight as a work around, but there were code issues that needed to be resolved so we shelved the idea.
We will find away to make this happen.

Well done once again.

best regards

Derek

First impression was "what, a tenner for some coaches!". Wasn't too bothered, but had a look, and they are good models and you get some scenarios. And I got to thinking that if no-one supports people who do models, then they probably won't get round to making other things that I might be more interested in.

So I bought them, and fortunately had the required other stock already downloaded, so could get straight into it. Enjoyed the stuff I've done so far, and look forward to further releases.....

Hehe! What a tribute to all that hard effort in model making! DT spend all that time creating these beauties just to be sat at the side of the tracks :P

Very well done DT - it's great to hear you are continuing support for them as well, much like RSDL! A MkI buffet car would certainly be appreciated - yet another gap plugged 8) As I am still waiting for the time to come when I can replace my PC to handle RS, I won't be buying quite yet ( :( ) as I believe you are limited with these kinds of things as to how many installs etc you can have. Otherwise I would gladly part with some cash and support you in your efforts!

Here's hoping a replacement will be along soon...

Thanks for all your efforts,
Cheers
