Fix for missing track is out

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

MK 2 installed. Mine does the same. Cannot install some of the fixes. The Scenario fix worked and the Track Fix which was a manual thing. But the others cause the Package Manager to come up with an error about cannot overwrite files. Surely you should not have to mess about making files read and write with the new Package Manager. Wonder if I should start a new Topic or leave it in this one.

Following the instruction in the Readme tells me the Package is already installed when I cancelled it on the first error. Confused

Chaps

I had this problem earlier.

Download the new Package Manager from http://www.railsimulator.com.

It then works fine. Hope that does the trick.

Hi,
Doesn't MK2 install the new Package Manager. That is what It said in the Readme I think!
From Readme.

RSDEVTOOLS
***********
• Package Manager now checks validity of files.
• Package Manager now prevents installation of corrupted data.
• Package Manager now prevents installation into corrupted files.
• Package Manager now allows already installed files to be over-written.

I also came up with the errors that you pictured. I found that when I installed mk2 It didn't change my package manager, so I downloaded the new one and installed it, now evrything installs without a problem.

You can Tell it's the new package manager as it says MK2 towards the top of the package manager window.

Hope this helps

James, have a look at the link you used to open it, it may be pointing at a folder called "Packager" . If that is the case then you might be using the old MK1 packager. The new packager is in a folder called "PackagerDevTool". You can either copy the packager program into the other folder or change the link.

Well I hope that this is what has happened as this is what happened with me.

Thanks Michael. I have just checked the Items installed and the flickering lights .inf is showing as installed even though I got the error and cancelled it. This fix has only just been released so I couldn't have installed it before. But has it been corrupted because of the Package Manager Error? MK2 should in theory do what it says in the readme file.

Ok, can I ask how you get to yourpackage manager?

what happens if you go, start/programs files/etc/tools/package manager. That one should be updated.

I have a feeling you have 2 installed in different places.
