Most likely you forgot the first line of his post by the time you wrote your answer.
I am sure RSDL are happy to receive new input for their list instead of the usual repetitions of old demands.
I for one cannot help with new ones, so I am happy that others have some fresh ideas.

Doesn't really matter what people want to be honest, the sim is dead.

I am so glad you took time out of your weekend to tell us that. Clearly, others don't share that opinion since content is still appearing - both freeware and payware.
If you think it is dead when why bother to post in a Rail Simulator forum ? Numerous people have posted the same but just keep coming back every few days to remind us it is dead.
I am by no means a RS fan. I had a new PC custom built to run it and I was somewhat disappointed. Until the AI dispatcher can be relied on to some extent it does not do what I want. The new PC was not a waste of money since it means I can run MSTS at full settings on Dorset Coast etc. and my daughter now has amassed a large collection of Sims 2 add-ons now we can run that.
My daughter is more likely to use RS than I am since she has more time and she loves those little narrow gauge engines that she drove at the Alexandra Palace show - I seem to spend a lot of time sorting out the fall-out in the forums and not so much time using any simulator lately.
This is not any sort of warning but a personal observation.

If 60k+ posts in nearly 5k of topics (and climbing) is any indication.

And not forgetting MSTS 2 will have its own set of unique gripes and failings. It still wont be the simulator of simulators.

MSTS2 .. FSX ..Aces.. (say no more) .. Alternative , stick with a sim(MSTS1) that lets face it in its vanilla format (when it launched) was bad and ugly beyond belief but we seem to have forgotton that..
If 3d trains are interested in this sim, as far as I'm concerned the future is at least a little roseyish

OK folks - before I go the whole hog of using the moderator tag to make that big moderator thing appear over there <------ please can we step back a bit ?
If you have decided that RS is a dead duck then there are plenty of other issues that you could be concerned with rather than posting here in the Rail Simulator forum and making us moderators try to read all the arguments. You could try saving the whales, building some MSTS or Trainz content, getting fit to run a marathon for charity.
This thread was asking what people wanted out of the next upgrade / update - not for further general angst about whether Rail Simulator is dead or not.
It is not a "Disney" case of "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all" but more of a case of not flogging dead horses. There has been a vast amount of negativity on various threads in the forum and a number have been locked. Therefore since this thread is asking for what people wish for in upgrade 3 then please let's keep on track with that.
I can ask Matt to create a new sub-forum in Rail-Sim called "flogging dead horses" if required.

All this Disney talk has me thinking of a new route that may be both simple for a beginner but very challenging asset wise... But I think the capabilites of RS graphically are up to it...
