Been finding that AI trains lose their path when going over single or double slip points.
happens mostly when the AI train has to cross the point in the straight line , ie not around the slip.
The Scenerio ends with error message AI train <name> has left its path.
Any ideas how to fix this.

Re: AI Trains and slip points.
Hi Mauried,
I did have that 'AI train has left its path' once but it's quite a long time ago now, so I'm not sure why it happened.
I have some single slip crossovers which do work alright with AI trains. Track type (passenger or freight or main line) and direction (up/down or both) are important, and the placing of Platform, Siding, and Destination Markers equally so.
Do check you tracks for which direction they are designated, using the space bar while in the world editor. When I designate my tracks I have found that it is suprisingly easy to get a tiny short section of track with the red arrows pointing in the wrong direction! Check around those red triangles.
I cannot think of any other reason an AI train should leave its path consistently. I put my own experience of it down to a one-off blip, but it did happen while I was building and testing my route.
regards Ted.

Re: AI Trains and slip points.
Tracks are bi directional.
Having done some investigation into this , it seems that the AI Dispatcher is
able to change the switch direction on a slip point only once, ie if the AI train is the 2nd
or subsequent train that needs to go over the slip and the slip has to switched for that train
it goes off path.
This may have something to do with the fact that a manual slip point with a lever operates
erratically after its switched once by the lever.
Ill play around some more.
