Thanks for The IOW Route

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

I think the tube stock its self sounds fine, its only the track sounds that are slightly lacking (and even they've been improved quite abit from the original routes :) )

Highly recommended :)

Yes also - great fun and plenty of scope to add your own scenarios and extra track.

Great route, love it! Have tinkered here and there and just seen that the whole markers for the whole IOW rail network (exisiting and otherwise) have been included along with fully dem'd island, now that is just crying out to be expanded!

I've just downloaded the IOW route and I agree, it has been very nicely executed.
One thing that puzzles me is the choice of Invincible for the steam loco. While that too is a great model, surely an O2 Class would have been more appropriate?
Now who will be the first to extend the line to Ventnor!

Hi

I think the rolling stock chosen for the IOW route was meant to reflect the situation as it is today. This seems partly due to the desire to record authentic sounds which could only be taken from locos actually running today.

Freshwater and Newport are being modelled by gOfthick at the moment and will probably be published under the Digital Traction label. See http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 0#p1027197
for the latest render.

Hiya,

The invincible was picked by the steam railway there and the other locos were not running this season so no reference material could have been gathered. We also know that there are a number of locos on the way that will sit nicely on the IOW.

best regards

Derek

Hi All

I've just bought the IOW but I can't seem to download it as it gets to 38% of the 293mb file then stops downloading. I've tried 4 times now and every time it's the same. Anybody else had any problems or is it just a glitch

E-mail the RSDL team
shop@railsimulator.com with your problem

Probs the best way to get it sorted out relatively quickly

I still haven't got bored of taking a train from the pier head down to smallbrook and taking a push pull service up the steam railway and making a run round and then come back again to the pier head :)

Perfect sized route, with a perfect amount of detail :)

I managed to download it eventually but there was no mention at all about having to go on-line to validate it, i.e. get a liscense, as I've not got internet access at home and it would have been nice of them to mention it when you download the file before you go to install it, but then again I should of expected that of RSDL

Once again I'm not very impressed with RS!!!

From what I recall when you go to unpack it , it tells you what to do if you intend to install it on a pc not connected to the internet ?
