Help with installing route
I have tried installing Bristol to Sheffield route but it is not working. I unpacked the route and all went well. I then went to load it up on free play but it just crashed. It went back to desktop and a Windows error report came up. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Help with installing route
Hi dean1986,
Not an expert here, Mike Simpson is your man, but as long shot if you have just installed RS Tools has the RS Tools programme copied the Serz.exe to your System32 folder and have you set up the RS path under 'Options' in RS Tools. Also if using Vista have you made all RS files Read/Write under 'Options' ? Just a thought.

Re: Help with installing route
The serz.exe file is found in the Packager folder ( a sub folder in the RS install location ). It should be copied to the Windows/system32 folder .

Re: Help with installing route
Hi again,
Have you just installed RS Tools and this is the first time you've used them or have you had the some time and they were working alright before?
Have you set the 'RS path' under RS Tools 'Options' as I asked previously? If you haven't done that the Utility doesn't know where to look for the files.

I'd also makre sure u got a full back up before installing a route... can get a tad frustrating sometimes.

Re: Help with installing route
It is the first time I have tried installing it. I Selected options select RS path I then clicked on Windows system 32 and then on the serz file. I then tried to click on check routes and scenarios and the same error message comes up. At the top of the page it says Rail simulator path in use is C:/Windows/System 32. Once I close RS tools and reopen it it just says Rail simulator path in use is.
thanks for all your help

Re: Help with installing route
You need to reset the path to RS, because from what you said you have told it that the path is ..windows/system32/... You dont need to tell RS_Tools where serz.exe is located, only Rail Simulator.dean1986 wrote:It is the first time I have tried installing it.
