Shed In The Shop! - Class 66

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

I'm currently working on adding the logos for the EWS, Freightliner and GBRF ones and will try and upload by tonight. Unfortunately the dynamic numbering is not present for the large numbers on the EWS and GBRF 66s so I will just add one number to give the appearance of a realistic loco but it will not correspond with the number shown on the front of the loco.

No comment on the logos???
You can test things 'til the cows come home, you have no guarantee everything will run smoothly.

And the liveries don't contain the respective logos for what I imagine to be legal reasons, but slapping one on will take 5 seconds and that'll bring the issue nicely out of their hands.

Ive always had a problem with reskinning. I did try but gave up as its to complecated.

Everything is working all Routes Present including my own and Scenarios load. Had a blip at the start but that was caused by NIS 2008 asking for Permission while in Full Screen. Had to delete the Blueprints.pak file manually. Windows Defender could have cause this problem. Only one problem The Coastline Scenario is not showing. Other than that quite happy. Nice loco's, Great Horn sound and lovely engine sound. Thanks RSDL.
Regards James.

Sounds like a lack of resources to me, that scenario ran fine for me.

@g0fthick - Thanks for the picture. I'm not a big diesel fan but I'll probably buy a 66 pack when the problems have been sorted. RailSim seems to mirror reality in so many ways...

It's a pity about the liveries, but I think it says more about the railway companies than RSDL.

I like that engine shed very much. Is it a standard building, a download or one of your own?

Michael

Hi,

It appears that some users are experiencing the Blueprints.pak from RSDL/RailSimulator not being deleted. As this contains a cache of all stock under that folder, and if it does not contain the updated Class 66 information, loading a scenario with the Class 66 will cause Rail Simulator to crash.

Solution therefore it to delete the Blueprints.pak file from RSDL/RailSimulator After installation of the Class 66.

For all those people wanting logos and proper numbers:

Known problems:
- White bodyside numbers can't be removed without ruining the way the front numbers work
- 'EWS' and '66003' not rendered too well when viewed at certain angles due to the nature of the bodywork. These were taken on my best graphical settings so I'm not sure if this is because my computer isn't good enough or just the way Rail Sim renders things.
- Large bodyside number does not correspond with the front number.

Thanks
