DT

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

I don't want to sound or be negative but I do find it very frustrating to see yet more pictures released by DT of more of their excellent potential material for RS but without being able to acquire any of it at present and without any hint whatsoever of release dates. Their first news item was dated 21st December 2007 which indicated that the first locomotive release would be "scheduled for early 2008" and we are now into May. I'm certain they will all be worth the wait but can we please have some hint as to DT's programme of release dates?

If somebody would come forward and model cabs for me, and somebody else would do the sounds for me, then you could have the models far sooner. As it is, I'm relying on a very small team to master a whole new range of skills, which takes time. We intend our models to be the best we can make them. That takes time. If I give you an indication of release dates, they would change, I can say that with certainty. Thus giving you the dates serves no useful purpose.

We follow a strict "we'll release it when it's ready". No one wants a rushed product, no one wants a product riddled with issues. I see people constantly complaining to this tune in this very board, so throwing it out before it's ready would be far from clever.

Besides, the locos are just one part of it. We have cabs and sounds, physics and animation too.

Stop being so obsessed over the clag! :P. While I agree it does look nice, it would look a bit silly when the 40's idling. Lovely models though and am hoping the guys at DT manage to get some recordings for the relevant locos.

Yet more stuff to look forward to!
I think most people can't wait for new models, just like being a kiddie again..then again I think I still am one, still doing the same stuff decades later!...but we have to be patient. It is obviously very difficult to create models or we would all be doing it! I hope you do very well with your add ons DT folks, very much looking forward to them and yes if you can get nice cabs and sounds it's well worth the wait. Looking forward to the new steam era stock also...any previews of work in progress would be nice if at all possible.
Best of luck!

Is right too. I'm looking forward to this model, and good to know you guys are putting all the time and attention required to release a fabulous model, as you say, nobody wants a rush job.

As they say, keep up the good work fellas.
