yeah, i just wanted to know if anyone has created this train for the US version of rail simulator yet, or if anyone will or not, because i thing this is one of the most beautiful trains i've ever seen, dont you agree? or does anyone know any other site that creates trains for the US version of rail sim, and i mean a site that make trains for just the US version, because i'm in the US, and theirs a couple UK trains i would like to use but only work for the UK version, so that kinda sucks, but yeah, anyone know of a US site that makes US trains?

(just copy and paste this to see the image, its the Southern Pacific 4449 Daylight Engine,(a steam train))

With no access to US locos and very little experience I imagine most of the UK modellers will quote similar reasons for staying true to what they know.

The US locos are admirable and impressive, but most modellers feel more inclined to work on what they know.

Yep I would agree, however if you can get some good drawings on a Challenger, that would be interesting :D

There is some U.S. content on train-sim.com but so far no steam locos. I do know of two steamers which are being built, but when they will be released is another matter.

Remember that RS has been out for about 6 months in Europe and rolling stock is only just beginning to appear in any quantity but the program has only been available for 3 months in the States, so things may take longer to appear.

Of course if you live outside of Europe/USA i.e. where the majority of people live, you will not even be able to get RS, never mind local content, without building it yourself.

As us here in New Zealand can testify to. Had to start at the very basics - 3ft 6in Track. We are however moving on to bigger(well, dont know about BIGGER) and better things:

the more I think about this the more appeal it has... but being as I can't go out and photograph the prototype has anyone any links to drawings/blueprints or details... ?

Needn't be a challenger/big boy but would like to attempt an articulated loco from the US
