I think you would have seen much going on if you had access to our office.
Most of which I can not talk about here. However what I can say is the RSDL team are busy beavering away.
A new website, a shop where you will be able to buy various things regarding RS, we have also been working on a new route with all new assets, many new locos, and Upgrade mk2.
We have been watching and responding to the posts while playing with all the new models and assets people have been making.
The team are on a well earned short break for Easter and we'll be back in the office on Tuesday.
By all means suggest something that you would like to see from us.
best regards
Derek

Derek, I think that people are complaining about problems with KRS:
1. Two different versions of KRS for US and Europe. One route was replaced by another route, making it hard for route creators to create new routes that use content from those two routes.
2. Problems related to "drawing" track and linear objects using the mouse in World Editor after MK1 update.
3. Need better documentation and/or tutorials on creating content for KRS.
4. PI Engineering taking long time to make KRS compatible with Rail Driver console.

Hi,
1 - I understand that this is not ideal, however if you want all the content then you will need both route. As I have already stated once our shop is up and running you will be able to get both routes. Then the choice will be down to the user.
2 - Hmm, not sure about this one, but I will chase it up, although we have managed to build a whole new route without that problem surfacing or being a major issue.
3 - The documentation is on going, however there is a fair bit out there on content creation. We will not be creating documents for Blender or 3D canvas as we do not have that in depth knowledge.
4 - That is their right, they can take as long as they want till they are happy with it. It is not something we can influence.

Derek

Hi,
When we are ready to roll out Upgrade mk2 I ask a few people from the forums to help us out and do some testing.
Giving it to everyone is not ideal, to manage that would be time consuming and need a larger team.

Derek

Will the RailSim Upgrade Mk2 address all the signalling errors.
Please, Please, Please, plus all biscuits the crew can eat.

1) A sound confirmation that Mk2 will make all the AI nonsense go away, as per Matt's short list. No crawling, no ignorance of signals, no unexplained denial of service; even if train paths cross at some point. Plus documentation of any remaining limitations.
2) Something about this mysterious mouse trigger happiness. I fully understand that intermediate bugs are very costly to track down. But it seems to spoil the fun for quite some people.
3) Please publish the DTD for Routes.xml and Scenarios.xml at least, now. I am currently reverse engineering a DTD for Routes.xml, but this is alchemy, not engineering. With DTDs, Mike's route checker tool could do much more. And the avalanche of faulty route installs -- for whatever reason -- is impressive. Of course, in the long run, an installer/packager which does a lot of sanity checks would be great. But please do not divert code time from problem no. 1.
99) If you would assure me that someone at RSDL is willing to answer physics questions, I would post a nice and polished list at your official forums. Until now, I never saw an answer on that topic, neither here nor there. But this is item 99 on the global priority scheme (although for me, it is number 2). Still, there are several people around who would love to improve the user experience which customers have with your product, if only you would let them, but handing out the required information.

Don't worry Derek. You just get a few suggestions for free. In the worst case, you win nothing at zero cost. All other cases are better.
Those who moan here (in general) are those who want KRS to be a success. And it is the nature of suggested improvements that they contain criticism of the status quo.
We all love your models. But many are feel that issues with the programme code spoil the fun.
