Good points there from rogertra and a good response from Derek.
I do think overmarze is not quite on the plot though. It is not about using the "game" or "simulator". Beta testing is about finding the errors - not proving it works. Given the customers will have a wide variety of systems in various states from virgin MS build to 3 - 4 years since build and numerous service packs and patches you do have to be dedicated to testing.
As a Microsoft Alliance partner I take part in beta testing for their products and I have 20 test PCs at my disposal running all sorts of configurations. I have machines running XP SP1 and SP2 with various combinations of security updates since then. Same with Vista - raw out of the box builds and SP1.
It is not so simple as some on this forum make out.

All a beta tester is exspected to do yea is use the game and find bugs you dont have to have the qualifications as long as your arm.
Beta testing is very time consumeing as in installing the product uninstalling the product.
You need a load of time on your plate wich i have and im also wanting to make a difference.
Not sure if that sounds right.

Thats what i said wasnt it?
Me doing 2 things at once always gives me the empression that ive lost the plot

no need to wait........ "there is another way" as they say on the advert.rogertra wrote:RSderek wrote:I wanted to get into a sim that made shunting easy, that had realistic controls, ran in a realistic (timetabled) manner, that made it possible for me to use a shunter to build the train, then go get the "road engine", couple up to my train, and run say a pick up goods from Fratton to Chichester (As an example) all the while, meeting realistic opposing traffic within a signalling system that worked.
And then I wanted to build the Hayling Island branch using just my mouse to build the route and not learn any complicated coding nor need to know how my computer worked.
I'm still waiting.

Hi,RSderek wrote: 1 - I understand that this is not ideal, however if you want all the content then you will need both route. As I have already stated once our shop is up and running you will be able to get both routes. Then the choice will be down to the user.
i think that the only way to stop this problem is to create a shareware upgrade with the US route, and the Newcastle-York route
thanks,
