4 new tool programs available

General discussion about Rail Simulator that doesn't really fit in to any specific category. A good place to start if you're not sure what category it should fit in to as well.

4 new tool programs available

Post by CaptScarlet »

I hope t1metraveller ( Bill ) doesn't mind me posting this here but there are some new utilities for RS available from http://www.Train-Sim.com . I quote from his post here http://forums.flightsim.com/vbts/showth ... p?t=268865

John
Well, this is what I've been doing for the last month. Going to upload these today or tomorrow.

KRS ROUTE ANALYZER PROGRAM
--------------------------------------
KRS Route Analyzer (KRSRA) is a program which will display detailed information about Rail Simulator routes and their scenarios. Program brings simple one click access to route and scenario folders. It will also display consist information about each scenario, including individual unit weights, total train weight and drag weight for the locos, in Imperial or Metric measurement units. Entire routes may be cloned, or individual scenarios cloned. Default routes can be unlocked so they can be edited.

KRS CONSIST EDITOR PROGRAM
--------------------------------------
KRS Consist Editor (KRSCE) is a program which will allow you to make user consists outside of Rail Simulator. It will display currently saved user consists, allowing you to edit them. It will also display every consist used in every scenario in every route, which may then be edited and saved as a seperate user consist (though not edited for the scenario itself). You can also delete user consists. A new "Details" window will give you much detailed information on each unit in the game, such as loaded/unloaded weights in Imperial or Metric measurement units, friction coefficients, coupler types, etc.

KRS BIN CONVERT PROGRAM
--------------------------------------
KRS Bin Convert (KRSBC) is a file converter and file viewer program for Kuju Rail Simulator game files. It allows simple double-click mouse access to all game files so they can be immediately inspected and unpacked, and even modifed (.bin files and others like them). .bin files are immediately converted and sent to the text editor of your choice. Make your change to the file, resave, and the file is converted back to .bin and replaced in-game after a backup is made. KRSBC detects when you close your editor, and checks for any changes you may have made. Editing .bin files are now like editing any text file. Click a .dav file and have the sound play in the onboard sound plugin or sound player of your choice. Click a .TgPcDx file and view it in an image viewer of your choice. Choose (or not) to convert sound and image files to a conversion folder whenever they are clicked.

KRS pak DELETE PROGRAM
--------------------------------------
KRS pak Delete (KRSPD) is a simple utility to delete the Blueprints.pak files for the Kuju Rail Simulator game. It allows simple one-click mouse delete of all Blueprint.pak files for the developer and game tweaker.

Hope you enjoy.

Hi John,

I don't mind at all. Was headed over here anyway now that the programs have been made available on train-sim.com.

I appreciate you passing the info on.

By the way, if anyone wants to host these programs or make them available on your private web sites, feel free.

These are freeware programs. Please give credit to timetraveller, but you may make them available as you wish. Not to be sold in any form.

Hi Peter,

Works fine on my system, Make sure your Routes.xml does not have a bad entry in it above the Newcastle route. Cinder Lane in particular has been responsible for 'cloaking' following routes.
