Still dont know why sometimes it saves with out a problem and sometimes you do 3 hours work then it dont want to save.
Stupid microsoft idiots.

Re: Major problems?
I just dont beleave this,Know with all the permissions sorted i thought i had cracked it and solved the problem but geuss what.
Its happend again.
I need some options.
The only that happends is when this gmae dosent save or anything then i cant deleat the file or rs folders on the g drive or anything.
Maybe its a hard drive problem?
Now im trying to move a file to the hard drive with RS on it and im getting this

The disk is write protected? what the hell dose that mean?

Re: Major problems?
Write-protected means read-only (i.e you can't write to it). I'd imagine either the file, folder or entire disk have been set to read-only. That would explain why you're seeing this error message and also why RS isn't saving (i.e overwriting) your route.

My advise: You need a person who comes to your home and repairs your Vista install. You are in deep Vista problems which have nothing to do with KRS, and are not the blame of Vista either, most likely. You simply arrived at a situation with your computer where you do not know how to get on without "professional" help (which can be a friend or whomever you find).
In this remote modes of forum, all you can get is hints like "check the permissions of the harddisk". This is certainly an idea that you already had yourself. You need someone who peeks into 100 holes to find all kind of options in all kind of places which together are responsible for the whole mess.

Ive asked most of my mates who have Vista on Msn and thay havnt herd of this problem or had this problem.
Why is it only me.

Re: Major problems?
I'm absolutely sure it's not only you, but I do think this may be one of those instances where the often used phrase "RTFM" is applicable (in this case, perhaps the Vista one). We cannot blame Microsoft for everything...

Re: Major problems?
Is this an external drive by any chance?
If so unplug the drive whilst the computer is on then re-boot without the drive, next shut down the computer and re-attach the drive. Hopefully it should find the drive again and all should be OK.
If it is an internal drive shut down the computer, pull out the power plug at the back of the computer open the case and detach the power lead from the hard drive. Plug in the power cable to the back of the computer and re-boot.
Once windows has completed its re-start shut the computer down again and remove the power plug. Re-attach the power lead to the hard drive, re-connect the power to the computer and re-boot again.
if this doesn't work there are some more things you could try here http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_tu ... hard_drive
Looking at your screenshot it looks like this drive was added after you originally installed Vista.
Hope some of this helps.

Re: Major problems?
That's strange, I had no problem installing either Vista 32bit or 64bit on my Sata drive ( though I dont have a IDE drive ).overmarze wrote:Yea for some reason as the hard drive is a sata drive i had to install Vista on a ide drive.

Re: Vista/hard drive problems?
True for XP not necessarily for Vista, I think it depends on the chipset the motherboard uses and whether Vista has it already. Also it may depend upon the bios settings prior to install.overmarze wrote:Dosent a sata drive require drivers to work?
